Common fire prevention

It is recommend to, before the start of the discussions and the making of a
security plan and design´s, perform a fire risk analyse. This will make it clear to all
involved parties what exactly are the risks that should reduced or even comply eliminated.
The analyse will then form the input for the security plans and design´s.

The fire safety of a building is commonly defined by the combination
of the build-in prevention measures, the actions that have been taken
and the use of the building.

To get an optimum fire safety there should be find a balance in the mix between architectural-, installation and electric technical solutions and organizational measurements.

In the process of getting certificated or accepted fire prevention level the ball lays by the powers that be, the demanding partners. These demanding partners can be:

The balance between the solutions and measures to get an optimal safety is written down in a fire safety plan. Depending of the question the fire safety plan covers the complete-, integrated- or partial solution.

The fire safety plan has to be approved by the demanding parties and is part of the permit request (building permit, building regulations or environmental legislation) and/or the high of the insurance premium.

Several solutions and measurements have to be certified. Part of the (new) certificate system is the "Master plan fire safety" ("MPB" on Dutch). The MPB is the base for further development (and certification) of the systems and measurements. The fire safety plan is in these situations equal to the MPB.
